about

amy

Amy is a professional artist and creative facilitator. She was first exposed to using art in a therapeutic way when she attended a Mindful Journaling course following the death of her father. This course enabled Amy to navigate through the grieving process. She discovered art's therapeutic use and how it can help break down mental barriers and provide greater clarity. This experience inspired Amy to pursue healing through creativity further, not just for herself, but for others too.

Amy recently graduated from a Creative Arts Therapy Foundation Degree. She's found the benefits of image-making, self-reflection and journal keeping astounding. Each day Amy continues to learn new therapeutic approaches which support individuals and enable them to become more expressive through the arts.

Experiences, emotions and travels inspire her paintings. Working with mixed media such as Italian plaster, gold leaf and acrylics, Amy creates richly layered artwork zinging with life.

Caitlin comes from a background in Art and Design and has worked as an Art Director and Copywriter in London and Bristol. As a child, Caitlin used Creativity and Art to soothe herself when she felt anxious and now feels passionately about sharing her knowledge and love of Creative Therapy to give people the tools to manage their own wellbeing.

Her love of journaling was ignited at University where she studied an Art degree in Visual Communications and learnt the power of communicating visually. She now uses this approach in her work as a Creative Mindfulness Teacher and Reiki Master Teacher to help individuals gain the tools to manage their own wellbeing. She has seen first hand in her classes, the powerful effects journaling has on all ages. Caitlin is also currently training to become a Creative Counsellor/Psychotherapist and has found journaling has been hugely therapeutic in this process of self reflection.

Growing up in the rainforests of Brazil, Caitlin spent a huge amount of time being outside and has always felt at her happiest in nature. She believes if we lose our connection with nature, we lose our connection to ourselves. It is this connection to nature that inspires her along with the natural patterns, colours, textures and shapes which she now brings into her journaling experience.

"You're both really great facilitators and what I particularly liked is when you shared your own journals and your creative exploration. Endless inventive, open-ended, no such thing as an error, and it's a repository of the emotional self."
